Letter from Sendai Trees to the Rescue by Adrian Escandor. Now I've a story for you. And it's about this semester's last exam. The exam is about Sendai City. After all that I've been through, that is, after all the exams and reports, I decided not to study for this particular exam and then see what happens...
Martial Arts Judo, Me and My Chicken Heart
- A slice of life of the clumsiest girl in town. What happens when she decides to take up martial arts? Nothing awe-inspiring, but the whole thing turned out to be rather entertaining. This essay was written by an awkward fifteen-year old (me back in '94), presented here for your amusement. A short, funny little essay on judo, courage, hurting all over, a cute blackbelter, and a tournament bronze.
A Plug! The Passive Pitbull, Little Bella and More - external link. Introducing the art of Adrian Dimalanta. He was a high school friend, and is now working in Canada as a character illustrator and animator. Although we were classmates in high school, I met him earlier than that, when we were 12 or so and representing our respective schools in an art contest. He was so talented even then. I've always, always admired his works, and am proud to link to his brief portfolio on the web. The art shown here are mostly black-and-white sketches, and while Adrian also paints and works with other media, you'll find some truly endearing characters in this portfolio.
